Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Day of Service”

January 18, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join the Discussion on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day of Service Let’s expand on the questions “what are you doing for others” and ask who are we serving and are the needs of the people being met? For the second time, in as many years, the Franklin Center and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Beaver County will facilitate the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Day of Service” event hosted by Penn State Beaver Campus. The focus for this open discussion platform will be “Are We Serving Everyone in Need”. For many who work in positions that strive to help others and for those who hope to work in service related industries, the questions that often come up are:

  • Are we making a judgement about the people we are serving
  • Who are the most underserved in our communities
  • Who deserves to be served
Herb Bailey, Executive Ministry Director of the Uncommon Grounds Cafe will facilitate the conversation. Please join us for this important conversation. Your input will be very valuable! There is no cost involved to participate, but a large turnout is anticipated. Your seat will be reserved when you call 724-378-7547. Please RSVP by Friday, January 15, 2016. ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!]]>
