BC CAN Training – Overview of Mental Health First Aid & Stop the Bleed Training

CAN CONNECTION – Training Alert – Training on Mental Health First Aid – April 2019 About the Program: We are planning a 2.5 hour presentation focused on understanding Mental Health First Aid, presented by Kate Lowrey, a national certified trainer for Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, certified through the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a Disaster Crisis Outreach Team (DCORT) Responder. Expected outcomes include increased comprehension and review of : What is MHFA Who Should Receive MHFA Mental Health Problems in the U.S. Stigma Signs and Symptoms of Mental Illnesses How to Become Trained in MHFA Followed by: Stop the Bleed Training (proper application of a tourniquet in an emergency) Presented by Jeff McKay of Beaver County Emergency Services A continental breakfast will be provided to allow participants a chance to network from 8:30 am—9:00 am. The presentation will begin at 9 am. Who Should Attend: This training is for agency personnel who would like to learn more about MHFA and how to provide an interactive 8-hour certification course to employees.
