Head Start/Early Head Start of Beaver County announces the following job openings:

 

Head Start Instructor:  $32,728.00, Full-Time, Full Benefits

 Provides instruction and guidance to pre-school children in the Head Start classroom supporting other comprehensive services and preparing them for entrance into the school age programming

Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in an equivalent major relating to Early Childhood Education.  Prefer one-year classroom experience with preschool children. Provides instruction and guidance to preschool children in the Head Start classroom supporting other comprehensive services and preparing them for entrance into school-age programming.

 

Instructor Aides: $21,049 to $24,689, Full-Time, Full Benefits

Works with children ages three to five enrolled in the Head Start program to support their development in all areas (social, self-help, cognitive, fine/gross motor, language/literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts) in order to prepare them for transition to school age programming.  High School Diploma or GED and willingness to enroll in a Child Development Credential program; $24,689, with an Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or other equivalent field of study. Prefer experience working with preschool children and willingness to help them grow and knowledge in school bus safety and food handling regulations.

 

CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION (CDE) SUPERVISOR: $41,683, Full-Time, Full Benefits. Carries out functions of day to day supervision of both the center-based and the home-based options of Head Start and/or Early Head Start in accordance with Administration for Children and Families performance standards and current regulations for Head Start including supporting other service areas in providing comprehensive services. In addition, oversee or support staff training and professional development and other special initiatives. Education, Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a certification in Early Childhood Education or Pa. Private Nursery/Kindergarten or Infant Toddler Certification. One (1) year experience as classroom/home based instructor with preschooler’s or infant/toddlers and/or pregnant women, preferably in Head Start with one (1) year of supervisory experience, or two years’ experience in supervision/management or case management. Knowledge of social service agencies in the County is desirable.

 

CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION (CDE) Manager: $46,425,

Full-time, Full Benefits. Oversees the functions of the early childhood development and education service area of Head Start and Early Head Start in accordance with the Administration for Children and Families performance standards and current Head Start regulations. Education; Bachelor’s Degree and certification in Early Childhood/Child Development or Related Bachelor Degree (Elementary Education, Special Education, Human Development Family Studies) with a state awarded Private Nursery/Pre-School certification. Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in a management level/supervisory position or three (3) years Head Start/Early Head Start experience with previous supervisory experience.

 

Floating Aide: $11.64 Hour– Associates/Bachelor’s Degree; $11.28 Hour– CDA or ECE Certificate; $10.12-Hour HS Diploma/GED, Full-time, Full Benefits

Works with children ages three to five enrolled in the Head Start program to support their development in all areas (social, self-help, cognitive, fine/gross motor, language/literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts) in order to prepare them for transition to school age programming.

Education: Prefer a minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education [ECE]; Will also consider an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in another field; Will also consider a High School Diploma or GED, in which at time of hire individual must provide proof of enrollment in a Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate Degree program, preferably in Early Childhood. Completion of CDA program must be within two (2) years of hire; proof of ongoing enrollment must be provided each semester (minimum fall and spring). Prefer experience working with pre-school children and willingness to help pre-school children grow. Knowledge in school bus safety regulations and/or food handling/service regulations desired.

 

School Nurse: $35,027, Full-Time, Full Benefits

Works as an integral part of the Child Health & Safety Team to assure that Head Start Performance

Standards are met in providing health care services to Head Start/Early Head Start children and their families. High school diploma. Current LPN certification or a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a health related field or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. One (1) year of work experience in a health related field, preferably with children aged birth to five years. Experience working with pregnant moms a plus.

 

Family Service Worker: $32,718, Full-time, Full Benefits

Provides social service functions including recruitment, enrollment, family services/support, and referrals for the Head Start program. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work/Social Services, or related field. One (1) year experience in social work, preferably in early childhood setting or servicing poverty.

 

Special Services Coordinator: $36,296, Full-time, Full Benefits

Identify, coordinate, monitor, track, refer and/or provide individualized services to children with special needs and their families; Direct and assist education staff in providing quality inclusive services to children with special needs. Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education with an Emphasis in Early childhood education, Psychology with emphasis in early childhood education, Social Work/ Counseling with an emphasis in early childhood education or related early childhood and mental health combination.

 Minimum of one (1) year related work experience, preferably with children age zero to five.

Part Time Classroom Aide: $9.21 per hour High School Diploma and experience with food service and supervising of infant/toddler age children desirable. Assist in the Nutrition and Education Components of the Head Start of Beaver County Program as needed.
