CAN CONNECTION Trng Alert Navigating Homelessness in Beaver County – May 2020
Beaver County CAN, will offer training, resources and agency services to
navigate the housing and homeless system in place showcasing the
collaborative services offered by The Cornerstone, Beaver County
Continuum of Care, the Women’s Center of Beaver County, The Franklin
Center and other social service providers.

About the Training :
The 2.5-hour session will address the specific needs of those experiencing or about to experience a housing crisis in Beaver County and how to serve clients more effectively. Resource options and being able to access them are key in providing financial, emotional, mental, and physical support to those in need. This training is designed to provide a framework for attendees to understand housing and homelessness in the County and provide options and resources to communicate to their clients. The panel will include:
Beaver County Continuum of Care Coordinator
Overview of the Beaver County CoC
Explain the Coordinated Entry process and Outcomes for Beaver County
The Woman’s Center of Beaver County
Explain what the Women’s Center has to offer including shelter and counseling services
Review the steps to expect when referring clients for the intake process at the shelter
The Cornerstone of Beaver County
Provide an over view of TCBC homeless assistance programs
Beaver County Fair Housing Officer
“Renters Prep” for professionals
The Franklin Center Homeless Assistance Program
Rent and utility assistance
Who Should Attend:
All who work in organizations that deal with fostering positive communication and interaction with people/clients facing a housing crisis to achieving housing stability.
