MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the Carnegie Free Library is to provide public library services. This service shall be primarily to provide free access to current and significant books, periodicals, newspapers, computers, Internet and other materials which will assist people in their search for reliable information, educational enlightenment, and recreational reading.

History of Organization:

The Carnegie Free Library of Midland is the second oldest public library in Beaver County. The library was constructed without any cost to the community, through a $20,000 grant made by Andrew Carnegie in May of 1914. No previous public library had existed in Midland, prior to Mr. Carnegie's grant.
