The Prevention Network is a non-profit organization that promotes positive lifestyles and encourages healthy relationships throughout Western Pennsylvania by strengthening families and empowering individuals through the delivery of high-quality intervention, prevention and education services

History of Organization:

The Prevention Network, formerly known as the Community College of Beaver County Prevention Project, was established in the 1970s to combat the alarming increases in alcohol and other drug use among teens. The organization found its roots in school-based prevention programming and has grown to provide 16 programs to schools, communities, and individuals. The Prevention Network currently provides over 40 days of prevention service collectively each week to the public school districts of Beaver County, PA. Drawing on more than 37 years of experience, The Prevention Network offers prevention programs that span a lifetime. The Prevention Network provides services in a variety of settings including schools, churches, low income housing sites, jails and to the general community. The Prevention Network is recognized throughout the state as a leader in the provision of prevention and education services. A carefully selected staff of more than 30 professionals is just one reason The Prevention Network has been successful in helping people better their lives for more than a quarter of a century.

Service Description

  • Promoting Wellness - Connecting People

    The Prevention Network offers drug & alcohol abuse prevention, education, consultation, community support service referral, group facilitation & technical assistance tailored to the needs of the clients/system. Also available are teacher-in-service and development programs, school prevention services, alcohol highway safety education, cultural competency training, community/team development services, leadership training and development of K-12 community prevention curriculum.
