About the Program:
A continental breakfast will be provided to allow participants a chance to network from 8:30 am—9:00 am. The presentation will begin at 9 am. 2.5 hrs Continuing Credits are available from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work, to satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC and LMFT. $10.00 fee
Compassion fatigue is known to professionals by many names – secondary victimization, secondary traumatic stress disorder, vicarious traumatization. This training involves solutions which can make a dramatic difference in the professional and private lives of those working with and around trauma.
Workshop participants will learn:
- What compassion fatigue is
- What are symptoms of compassion fatigue
- What are remedies to help combat compassion fatigue
- What happens if compassion fatigue is unrecognized or fails to get help
Who Should Attend:
This training is for educators and agency personnel who deal with students/clients/families who have themselves or family members/friends who work with individuals who suffer from compassion fatigue.
