BCRC Inc., a Vocational Rehabilitation agency is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to work part-time as a consumer advocate and provide vocational support for people with behavioral health disorders seeking employment. This position will assists those with mental illness to feel comfortable in thinking about and discussing competitive employment. The position will provide support as they locate job opportunities, decide how to best present their vocational histories and learn how to choose, get and keep employment. The Peer Specialist will also give presentations to groups regarding the hope of moving forward from a history of mental illness to successfully living and working in their community. |

A high school diploma. Work experience in behavioral health or advocate activities preferred but not required. Applicant must have good written and verbal communication skills. The successful applicant will have computer skills, the ability to work independently and the capacity for creative problem solving.
A Certified Peer Specialist must be willing to self-identify as a person with a serious behavioral health disorder that is in recovery. Applicants should possess the PA State Peer Specialist Certification or be willing to obtain it following hire. The successful applicant will have computer skills, the ability to work independently and the capacity for creative problem solving.
