Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania

Options: Vision, Mission and/or Purpose of Organization

GSWPA serves over 35,000 girls in 27 counties - building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

History of Organization:

Our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, started Girl Scouting with a group of 18 girls in Savannah, GA, on March 12, 1912 to begin a tradition that would eventually be replicated in millions of communities around the world -- Girl Scout troops.

She believed girls should receive the same opportunities as boys to develop physically mentally and spiritually -- and she and those who would follow in her footsteps have worked hard to ensure that what she started would flourish in the years ahead.

She was a trailblazer. Amazing. Ahead of her time. A Girl Scout.
