Options: Vision, Mission and/or Purpose of OrganizationParakleseos LLC offers individual, marital, and family psychotherapy, as well as psychologic testing. Individuals of all ages are treated, from preschoolers with behavior problems to centenarians. Services are provided from a Christian perspective. The name of the practice (Parakleseos) is the Greek word meaning to encourage, comfort, console, advocate, and support. It is the same word from which Paraclete, a Biblical name for the Holy Spirit, is derived.
History of Organization:Dr. Flannick is a licensed psychologist with full-time experience as a mental health practitioner dating to 1977. In addition to his work as a clinician, from 1999 to 2014 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Publications include a textbook on child and adolescent development (sixth edition published 2013); a chapter on schizophrenia in three editions of a book for primary care physicians; and research conducted with two physician co-investigators related to weight management. Since 2003, Dr. Flannick has helped many individuals of all ages overcome psychiatric difficulties through psychotherapy and natural biologic interventions, completely avoiding the need for potentially dangerous and addictive psychotropic medication in the significant majority of cases.

Parakleseos offers behavioral health rehabilitation services (BHRS), more commonly called "wraparound", from a Christian perspective for children and teens with behavioral and autistic spectrum disorders.

Fees/Cost for ServicesMost individuals with health insurance (including Highmark and UPMC) receive care for a small co-pay. Those without insurance can avail themselves of financially-attractive packages of services; for example, five visits are $450, and ten visits $725. Although some individuals need long-term care, most can complete their therapy in ten visits or less. The nutritional supplements typically prescribed by Dr. Flannick cost less than $1.00 per day (Dr. Flannick does not sell any supplements).
