History of Organization:PENED was created in 1984 after it's founder's, Anita Sinicrope Maier,experience as a parent of someone suffering from an eating disorder recovered. The organization has been sponsoring support groups, referrals,educational presentations, written materials and acting as an agent of advocacy since that time. Each February they are a sponsor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week and they are represented at national conferences across the country.
